NewsIn 2006 the choir undertook its fifth UK tour in 16 years, travelling via Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium to England and Wales. On our previous tour in 2002 we sang with such famous choirs as the Vienna Male Chorus, and in such magnificent venues as Canterbury Cathedral and the Madeleine in Paris. Venues in the 2006 tour included Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, the Basilica of St Francis at Assisi, York Minster and Winchester Cathedral in England, and St David's Cathedral and the Wales Millennium Centre in Wales. When not travelling overseas, the choir gives many concerts in and around Sydney, and often travels to rural parts of NSW, helping organisations raise large sums of money for charity. In 2007 the choir made two country tours: the first to the South Coast with concerts at Narooma, Merimbula and Ulladulla; the second to Dubbo, Wellington and Mudgee. New members will be eligible for the generous choir discounts applying to overseas and domestic tours. 2008 is the twenty-eighth year of the Sydney Welsh Choir.
